Ahmad

My cousin, Ahmad, is dead. This morning I got a call from my brother telling me about his death in Iran. He has been dead in his apartment for three days, before the neighbors smell the decaying corpse and call the police.

Death never had such a tangible apearance to me.
Ahmad is dead forever.

  2. Thanks.
I used this annoying image (decaying corpse) as a metaphor a few days ago, in my post about Hugo Crosthwaite's paintings. It was very saddening to know it actually happened to a person I know.

  4. I am sorry to hear of your cousin's death. More unfortuantely, I am assuming you cannot fly home to be with your family? I hope that you at least are well involved with the Iranian expatriot community in LA, extensive as it is. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

  5. Thank you all.
For a long time I used to think I am writing for myself... maybe I should change the weblog's subtitle (A Monologue) on the top of the page. It is not a monologue anymore.
