This article on BBC says a lot about how "nations" are invented based on an imaginary past. They are invented regardless of human beings' real experience of life, and regardless of their real history.
I read the article u provided the link for....Very, very interesting.....substitute the words arab and jew for Hindu and Muslim and this could have been the type of stories that my grandfather and his brothers used to tell me about their village in today's Bangladesh before India was partitioned and Pakistan was formed........according to him, they could never imagine that they would have to leave the land they thought of as theirs.....things changed suddenly in 1947.....
